Surrey-based artist Joanne Last originally trained as a classical pianist at the Royal College of Music, working for many years as a teacher and accompanist. However, painting had always been an integral part of her life, and in 1992 she completed a two-year course at The Putney School of Art and Design. Joanne has painted many different subject matters - from landscapes to abstracts and cityscapes – but always finds herself drawn back to the sea. A keen traveller, she particularly loves the barren beauty of the Scottish island of Islay and the rugged coast of North and West Cornwall. Her intention is not to simply record the view, but the experience of being in that place - the time of day, the light, the weight and surge of water, the feel of sun, rain or relentless wind.

About our canvas prints. All these products are printed using the latest digital technology with latex inks on 260gsm premium satin canvas before being stretched over solid wooden frames. We use a gallery wrap so the image continues around the side of the frame.Our canvas prints are available in two depths. The standard range is 38mm in depth, but we also can offer some of our canvases on a lighter 18mm deep frame. Please ask for a price if this is of interest. Canvas prints are supplied shrink-wrapped with protective corners.
All items are securely packaged, and delivered by signed for courier. Please check that your order is correct on delivery - should there be any problem whatsoever, please contact us immediately (in the case of damage, so that we can claim back the delivery cost / damages from the courier company), or within 30 days for any other reason.
Please also note that if buying for a present / in advance of a specific date, that there is usually a 7 working day turnaround time on these items.
Please note - all items are made to order, so it can take up to 7 working days (at peak times) for your picture(s) to be prepared for dispatch. All items are dispatched by courier - we use Fed-Ex or UPS. The delivery charge only applies to the first item bought - so if you buy more than one picture at the same time it will be more cost effective.
